Trump Did Win The Most Popular Votes

As if you haven't been paying attention, we have recently completed the election for the 45th President our great nation. So far we have done well to have survived 56 four year-cycle presidential election campaigns and results. With only 12 Presidents having been elected to office for two terms.

For those not familiar with how the President of the United States is elected here is a quick over view. There is more to this but for right now I won't go into to much detail. Every four years we hold an "indirect election", and that is the key here, an indirect election, in which citizens of the various fifty states in the union and in the District of Columbia cast ballots. These ballots are used for the Electors of each state, which form the Electoral College to inform them as to who the people believe should get their Electoral Votes. These electors then in turn cast direct votes, known as electoral votes, in their respective State for the respective Presidential candidate.

After Donald Trump secured enough Electoral Votes to secure his win to the Presidency, you may have heard, again, how the opposing party had won the popular vote and we should get rid of the electoral vote because the popular vote is what matters. If that is so, then President-Elect Trump did win the most popular votes.

That's right, Trump did win the most popular votes. When you look at every media outlet you see Clinton having more votes than President-Elect Trump.

And throughout this election you have been "educated" by the media as to how the President of the United States of America is elected. You are told this is done through what is called the Electoral College process. And to a certain extent they are correct. The main issue here is that this is where the so called education stops. Doing some research, I haven't seen anyone go the extra mile to really explain how this process works or they type of governmental system we live in.

Instead, you'll find the corruption of ideology place a curtain over several pertinent facets of information. Had this been explained properly, our election system would probably be somewhat different than what we experience today.

Just to do a rough recap, Electoral Votes are allocated to each state based on the Census. The more people in your State, the more Electoral Votes your State get.

Currently, the Electoral College consists of 538 electors. A majority of 270 electoral votes is required to elect the President. Here is where things start to get murky as our perception of the kind of "nation" we live in.

For the most part we live under a two government rule, called Federalism. This is the main reason why you do not need a passport to go from New York to New Jersey, or from California to Oregon, or Florida to Alabama. You get the picture.

Keep in mind, the Federal Government does not have any residents. No one lives in the Federal Government. It can be debated if politicians could be considered residents of the Federal Government. We can save that for another episode. For right now, we'll just say the Federal Government doesn't have any residents. It does have a crap load of employees, but doesn't have any residents.

The Federal Government is just an administrative entity. It is a centralized location where laws, rules and regulations are enacted and paper agencies are created to uphold those rules and regulations. I can go into more detail, but I think it would be best to stop right here before I get to sidetracked. I think you got the picture.

Look at it this way, without the Federal Government, what do we have? We have 50 independent State-Nations. Not necessarily Nation-States, take the EU for example, because of our State's agreement to come together under one flag. This basically allows the sovereignty of a State to be divided or shared.

Each sovereign State has its own flag, constitution, elected officials, and laws reflective of the history and culture of each state.

In addition to this, each sovereign State has agreed to adapt the laws created through the Federal Government. Which is supposed to be a representative of the other States and the people and not a Nation to itself.

For many, we think or treat States more like we do counties. They are just lines on a map with no real delineation of sovereignty. If you pay attention, there is a push to have everything fall under the Federal Government one way or the other. That is one way to destroy the Second Amendment.

This is important to keep in mind because you may start to hear about how the Progressive Left will want to do away with States borders and have just one Government to encompass all the States in the Union.

Going back to the election. Amongst the states, through the federal government, it has been agreed that ever four years an election will be held to elect a person to the office of the President to represent the States United as a whole under one flag. So how is this to be done? Since the founders were afraid of tyrant, either as a single person or an entity, finding its way to the Presidency through the manipulation of the masses in whole. If you are not sure what I mean, just look at the last 100 years. As a side note, would you believe, in the beginning, some of the framers didn't want any input from the public and would rather have congressional appointments.

In the end, the founders devised a point system represented by the Electoral College. To the Federal Government, the "popular vote" doesn't exist. The only thing they care about are the Electoral Votes allowed to each State.

Then the question comes down to does a candidate receive the Electoral Votes for each State. Well, here is the kicker.

They have to win the Popular Vote for each state. That's right, the primary election as a whole doesn't have a popular vote, but each state does. So President-Elect Trump won more Popular Votes than Hillary Clinton did. And by doing so, he received the most amounts of Electoral Votes the Federal Government will use to tally to the final 270.

So when someone tells you their candidate won the popular vote, just ask them, "are you aware there is NO POPULAR VOTE on the federal level?" Just wait and see what their response will be. I'm sure it will be pricessless.
